11:30 - 12:15 "Mini-invasive and micro-surgical periodontal plastic surgery. Role PRF’s”
Presentation summary
Periodontal plastic surgery is designed to restore esthetic and function of the muco-gingival complex surrounding the teeth. Among available surgical techniques, connective tissue graft is a reliable treatment option that is able to increase height and thickness of the gingiva as well as to perform root coverage. However connective tissue harvesting is technical, time consuming and might generate post-operative pain. Therefore graft substitutes such as Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) appear as a valuable help to the clinician. PRF is a fibrin matrix in which platelet, cytokines, growth factors, and cells are embedded. The presentation will show how and when it can be used as a graft for periodontal plastic surgery.
